Many students recently represented Good Samaritan Catholic College in the new Sydney Catholic Schools Representative Sports program for Semester One. The program commenced earlier this year which gave our students an opportunity to represent the College in a wide range of sports.
Each Thursday afternoon, the teams travelled to various venues to play against other teams from Sydney Catholic Schools. Good Samaritan had teams for a variety of sports including Soccer, Rugby League, Netball, Goal Ball and Basketball. The talent of our students was demonstrated through the great achievements of the various teams.
The Intermediate and Senior Girls Soccer teams played admirably and came second in their competitions, while the Junior Girls Netball team finished a very impressive third.
The Intermediate Boys Soccer team went on to achieve very highly in their competition, coming first in their conference. The team is now through to the semi finals which will be held in Term 3 to play the winners of the other conferences.
We had our very first Goal Ball team who represented the College. Their enthusiasm and teamwork was truly on show on the court.
These achievements would not have been possible without the hard work, dedication and practice each student put towards their sport. Throughout the wins, losses and draws, all students demonstrated teamwork and sportsmanship on and off the field. The support of the coaches was also critical to the success of the teams. Their commitment and dedication gave the teams the inspiration and encouragement to always give it their best.
