All the Action from the 2019 Athletics Carnival

The weather was great, and so too was the competition. A number of records were broken, and the house cheers were again sung. It was time for the GSCC 2019 Athletics Carnival.

The day was held at the Campbelltown Athletics Centre. It culminated a number of track and field events, with a large number of students commencing early for the 800 metre run. By around 9:30am, the rest of the College were ready to compete for points for their houses.

By the end of the day, the houses performed their house cheers. It was another spectacular sight that was full of energy, enthusiasm and collaboration. Each house practised during recess and lunch times in the lead up to Friday. While all of the house cheers were extremely impressive, a big congratulations must go to the La Salle house who won the house cheering competition for the Athletics Carnival in 2019.

The Dashin' for Compassion fundraising initiative ended the day with a bit of fun with a lemon on a spoon race. Students were given the opportunity to donate money for Caritas Australia's Project Compassion.

Overall, it was another successful and competitive day. Read the upcoming College newsletter for full track and field results. The house winner for the day will be announced at the next assembly.
