Celebrating 20 Years at Good Samaritan Day 2019

It was an absolutely momentous and fun-filled day for Good Samaritan Day 2019. The day was filled with exciting activities, glorious food, a carnivale area full of rides, and a live concert area that showcased some of the awesome talents at the College. This year was a particularly special milestone for the school, as it marked its 20th anniversary.

The College came together in the morning to celebrate Mass with Fr Joseph. It was a moment that provided all staff and students the chance to reflect on the achievements and milestones that have happened in the previous years at Good Samaritan, and to come together as a faith-community.

The new College banners and school song were also unveiled. The new banners were developed in a way that captured the icons of the school's original banners, and made sure the house patron was more prominent in the overall design. As part of bringing the College forward into the next 20 years; staff and students embarked on the production of a new school song. See the official film below. The making of the new school song was no easy process... Jess R from the Media Team reported on the event, along with Gabi G and Gabby M who interviewed a number of the performers in the process.

The afternoon gave everyone the chance to enjoy the festivities of Good Samaritan Day. The carnivale atmosphere had carnival rides, food and activity stands, and even a 'dunking machine' for students to dunk only the bravest of teachers.

The Live Concert site showcased the wonderful talents of Good Samaritan Catholic College's students. From singers, band members, specialist drummers to dancers, it truly celebrated the diversity of the school.

It was a wonderful and memorable event for everyone. Our students in particular have marked the day as one of the best Good Samaritan Day events ever...

"What a day! The thrill of the rides, the talented atmosphere, the whole day was filled with fun, joy and happiness all around. As GSCC students celebrated the 20th anniversary of Good Samaritan Catholic College, rides were displayed around to embark the 20th year of Good Samaritan Day. Students enjoyed themselves all around, whether being the first one for Year 7's to the last ones for year 12's. Good Samaritan Day 2019 was a huge success with amazing weather and lots of excitement to even the teachers getting on the rides. I can certainly say Good Sam Day of 2019 was by far the best Good Sam Day ever."

"I really enjoyed the rides as it was enjoyable with (my) friends. There was many activities for everyone to do. There were a variety of show bags (for) everyone's choice of lollies"
