A Special Prayer Service for Easter

Just before the holiday break, Good Samaritan Catholic College’s students and staff took part in a special Easter Prayer Service. Easter is a very significant day in the Church's Liturgical Year. With Easter being in the middle of the holidays this year, the College community came together on the last day of term to remember what Jesus did for us.

The rainy and wet afternoon did not dampen the community’s spirits. Students and their teachers interacted with a series of special Easter slideshows, where they celebrated the Easter Service within their Pastoral Care classes. The Service consisted of several different aspects, including prayers, readings and videos regarding Holy Week. GSCC staff read the story of the Last Supper to their classes and taught the students about the importance of Easter. The students were clearly showing reverence during the service and demonstrated a respectful attitude towards the readings and responses.

As mentioned earlier, Easter is a very significant day for all of us. It's the day when Jesus resurrected after having been crucified three days earlier on Good Friday. Jesus being risen indicated the eternal life that is waiting for all of us in Heaven. The Easter Service gave a spiritual opportunity for students to connect with God and prepare themselves for the Easter Season.

The College wishes our community a happy and blessed Easter.
