Australian Catholic Youth Festival 2025

A group of 22 excited and faith-filled students from Years 9, 10 and 11 will attend the Australian Catholic Youth Festival (ACYF) in Melbourne at the end of November. This special event celebrates the Jubilee Year, with the theme “Pilgrims of Hope”. The students will be travelling with other Sydney Catholic Schools, but they all share a love for God and a desire to grow in their faith. At ACYF, they will take part in prayer, music, talks, and fun activities that help them feel closer to God and each other. It will be a joyful time to learn, be inspired, and bring hope back to our community.

I congratulate these students for representing our school:

The students have participated in two formation events this term to prepare them for the pilgrimage. The first event was for all pilgrims across Sydney Catholic Schools. This event was a fantastic opportunity to meet the other schools. The night ended with reconciliation and prayerful Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. Good Samaritan also hosted a formation afternoon with the local schools: Patrician Brothers’ College, Freeman Catholic College, All Saints Catholic College and Clancy Catholic College. These schools together will form 2 bus groups that move around Melbourne for the ACYF.

A Prayer for the Pilgrims:

Loving God,

Watch over all students and staff at the Australian Catholic Youth Festival. Keep them safe in travel, in gathering, and in spirit. Fill their hearts with joy, their minds with wisdom, and their days with peace. May Your presence guide every step and bless every moment.

St Christopher, Pray for Us

St John Paul II, Pray for Us

Amen.
