Celebrating Community Spirit at the Good Samaritan Catholic College Athletics Carnival

The Good Samaritan Catholic College Athletics Carnival, held on Tuesday 21 April, was a vibrant celebration of school spirit, determination, and community pride. From the first starter’s gun to the final relay, students filled the track with colour and energy, creating an atmosphere that reflected the very best of our College culture. Competition was strong across all age groups, with students pushing themselves, supporting their peers, and contributing to an unforgettable day.

A major highlight of the carnival was the announcement of our Age Champions, each of whom demonstrated exceptional consistency and athletic excellence across multiple events. Congratulations to Olivia Docanto (12 Girls), Lathem Palelei (12 Boys), Abigail Raju (13 Girls), James Randal (13 Boys), Felicity Baldock (14 Girls), Morris Tran (14 Boys), Marissa Valeri (15 Girls), Cooper Lam (15 Boys), Miakoda Ngo (16 Girls), Brodie Harkness (16 Boys), Alyssa Michael (Open Girls), and Marc Moufarrege (Open Boys). Their achievements were a testament to hard work, resilience, and a willingness to rise to the occasion.

The House Championship was equally thrilling, with points shifting throughout the day as each House rallied behind its athletes. In the end, De Paul claimed a well‑deserved victory, showcasing depth across both track and field events. Chisholm secured second place, followed closely by La Salle in third. Mérici, Mackillop, and Polding rounded out the standings, each contributing moments of spirit, teamwork, and determination that enriched the day.

More than anything, the carnival highlighted the strength of our community. Students cheered loudly for one another, staff supported events with enthusiasm, and Houses united in a shared sense of pride. It was a day that celebrated effort, inclusion, and the joy of sport — a true reflection of what it means to be part of Good Samaritan Catholic College.
