Elisha D in Year 11, has been selected as one of six winners in Australia of the prestigious Astronaut Al Worden Endeavour Scholarship Class of 2026. This is an outstanding achievement, where she will join Mission Team #29 and represent Australia at Space Camp USA in Huntsville, Alabama, in July 2026.
The Endeavour Scholarship, presented in conjunction with the Indo Pacific 2025 International Maritime Exposition, is a global STEM initiative that offers students a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to engage in immersive astronaut training, international collaboration, and exploration of the connections between ocean and space innovation.
Elisha expressed her excitement and gratitude for the opportunity, saying:
“STEM and The Astronaut Al Worden Endeavour Scholarship have truly inspired me and meant so much to me. The moment my teachers recommended me, I felt incredibly honoured, and I immediately began researching the program, watching past students’ journeys, and started my application that same day. I have always been fascinated by the stars and the universe, but this opportunity made that fascination feel real, like something I could actually reach for.” [indopacifi...xpo.com.au]
Elisha will join five other exceptional students and a STEM educator on the fully funded journey to Space Camp, where they will participate in hands-on STEM activities and simulated astronaut training alongside international teams.
The scholarship not only celebrates academic excellence but also aims to promote curiosity, innovation and global connectivity among young Australians.
We congratulate Elisha on this incredible achievement. Her curiosity, drive and enthusiasm for science and exploration are truly inspiring. The College community wishes her every success as she embarks on this exciting journey to Space Camp USA.
