Exciting Achievements and Highlights from Term 2 Sports at GSCC

Term 2 has kicked off with great energy and enthusiasm in Sport at Good Samaritan Catholic College, and our students have already achieved some outstanding results across a range of competitions.

We were proud to compete in the Liverpool Region Futsal School Championship, where our U16 Boys team were crowned Regional Champions - a fantastic achievement! Our U14 Girls and Open Boys teams also performed exceptionally well, finishing as runners-up in their divisions. All three teams have now qualified for the State Finals to be held later this year.

Our football teams have also been competing in the Bill Turner Cup & Shield and both our boys & girls teams have progressed to Round 3 of the competition.

On campus, we held our House Patron Table Tennis Competition, which saw students battling it out not only for house pride and valuable house cup points but also for the chance to represent Good Sam at the upcoming SCS Gala Day which took place in Week 3.

In week 4, our students travelled to Sydney Equestrian Park to compete in the SCS Sydney Cross Country, showcasing determination and school spirit on a challenging course.

Our weekly Thursday Representative Sport program has also had a strong start in the SCS Interschool Winter Competition. A special mention goes to our Intermediate Boys Soccer team, who remain undefeated and opened their season with an impressive 5-1 win over Clancy, last year’s champions. Our Senior Girls Netball team is also off to a flying start and remains undefeated as well.

Looking ahead, Term 2 promises even more sporting excitement. Upcoming events include:

  • SCS Dance Eisteddfod – Week 5

  • Oz Tag Regional Gala Day – Week 6

  • SCS Conference Chess Gala Day – Week 8

  • SCS Sydney Gymnastics Gala Day – Week 9

We are incredibly proud of all our students for their commitment, teamwork, and sportsmanship. With such a strong start, we look forward to seeing what the rest of the term will bring!
