GSCC Chess Club Crowned School Champions!

A chess tournament can turn on one quiet move. Across a crowded room, while clocks tick and pieces come off the board, students must think clearly, stay calm, and make decisions under pressure. At the recent Sydney Chess Academy Interschool Chess Challenge, the GSCC Chess Club did exactly that.

GSCC achieved Overall School Champions, securing 1st place in a strong interschool field. It was a standout result for the club and a proud moment for every student who represented the school.

A special congratulations goes to Jaeven in Year 7, who produced an exceptional performance to become the undefeated Individual Champion of the Secondary Division. Competing against students up to six years his senior, Jaeven showed focus, patience, and remarkable skill throughout the event.

The title of Overall School Champions reflects the strength of the full team.
