NAIDOC Week is celebrated each year from July 4-11 and as a school community we usually come together to celebrate this significant event in Week 1 of Term 3. This year's theme is Heal Country and the link below is a fantastic website for us to learn, engage and reflect:
Additionally; the ABC is screening (and streaming) two of the best Australian Documentaries of 2021 for NAIDOC Week: 'Firestarter - The Story of Bangarra' and 'My Name Is Gulpilil' - both are available to watch for free:
Each year NAIDOC week grows in stature and depth of celebrations at a community, state and national level.
It is an opportunity for all Australians to come together to celebrate the rich history, diverse cultures and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the oldest continuing cultures on the planet.
