From the creative spark of Year 7’s poetry incursion to the dramatic intensity of Year 12’s Shakespearean experience, students across the school have been diving deep into the world of English. These recent events brought literature to life - through performance, participation, and powerful storytelling - enriching students’ understanding and appreciation of language in action.


Year 7 Incursion: Writing in Action (Poetry Performance)

Year 7 students enjoyed an inspiring incursion focused on "Writing in Action." The poetry performance captivated students, showcasing the power of words and live expression. Through engaging readings and interactive activities, students enhanced their understanding of poetic techniques and gained valuable inspiration for their own writing. It was a creative and enriching experience that left a lasting impact!

Year 12 Advanced: Richard III at Seymour Theatre

Year 12 Advanced English students had the opportunity to attend a powerful performance of Shakespeare's Richard III at the Seymour Theatre. Experiencing the drama and complexity of the play first hand brought the text to life in an unforgettable way. Following the performance, students engaged in thoughtful discussions about the themes, characters, and theatrical elements, deepening their appreciation and understanding of this classic work. It was an enriching experience that will undoubtedly inform their studies!
