As Term 3 drew to a close, it’s time to reflect on a particularly busy yet incredibly successful period at Good Samaritan Catholic College. Throughout the term, our school community came together to celebrate a range of significant events that brought connection, gratitude, and achievement.
One of the highlights was the NAIDOC Assembly, where we honoured the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. This event not only showcased the rich heritage of our Indigenous communities but also reinforced our commitment to reconciliation and cultural awareness within our school.
We also held a special Fathers Day Mass, which provided an opportunity to commemorate our fathers and father figures. The Mass was celebrated by Fr Simon, and this wonderful gathering allowed students and families to express their gratitude and appreciation for the positive influences in their lives, creating a warm and supportive atmosphere.
Amidst these celebrations, our Year 12 students tackled their Trial HSC Examinations, demonstrating their hard work and dedication as they prepared for their upcoming final assessments. Towards the end of term, our Year 11 students also undertook their final examinations, where they had the opportunity to showcase their commitment to academic excellence and personal growth.
Another major event this term was Good Samaritan Day, which was a day dedicated to celebrating our school’s namesake and the values embodied. This occasion brought the entire school community together to share the spirit of unity and service as students engaged in various activities aimed at supporting those in need. Special student-run fundraising stalls were organised, as well as an engaging concert at the end of the day to celebrate the amazing talents of our students.
Culminating the term’s events, we proudly celebrated the graduation of our Year 12 students. This milestone not only marked the end of their high school journey but also highlighted their dedication and resilience throughout their time at Good Samaritan.
Despite the busyness of Term 3, we achieved numerous successes that reflect the strong sense of community and commitment to excellence at Good Samaritan Catholic College. As we move into the final term of 2024, we look forward to building on this momentum and continuing to support our students in their educational journeys. Thank you to all staff, students, and families for their hard work and dedication throughout this busy term!
