On Wednesday evening, 11 March, a talented group of Good Samaritan swimmers represented our College at the SCS Conference 4 Swimming Carnival, held at the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre. This event is the next stage of progression from our College Swimming Carnival, and our students rose to the occasion with exceptional performances across the program.
We are proud to announce that the following students have qualified for the Sydney Championship Swimming Carnival:
● Melanie R (Year 7)
● Anthony P (Year 7)
● Katherin U (Year 8)
● Helena G (Year 10)
● Thomas W (Year 10)
● Isabella G (Year 11)
● Joshua L (Year 11)
A special congratulations goes to Melanie R, who delivered two record‑breaking swims on the night. Melanie set a new Girls 12–13 Years 100m Backstroke record with a time of 1:23.46, and also broke the Girls 12–13 Years 50m Backstroke record in 37.67 seconds — an incredible achievement for a Year 7 student.
We also celebrate the outstanding performance of Anthony P, who broke the Boys 12–13 Years 100m Breaststroke record with a time of 1:45.50. His consistency across events earned him the title of Under 13 Age Champion.
These results reflect not only the talent of our swimmers but also their dedication, discipline, and commitment to representing Good Samaritan with pride. We congratulate all students involved and wish our qualifiers the very best as they move on to the Sydney Championships.
