Sporting News
Good Samaritan Catholic College has enjoyed an outstanding term of representative sport, with our students demonstrating skill, resilience, and genuine pride in wearing the Good Sam colours. Across multiple Sydney Catholic Schools competitions and gala days, our athletes have continued to raise the bar and showcase the strength of our sporting program.
This term marked one of our most successful SCS campaigns to date. Every Good Sam team competing in the weekly interschool competition qualified for the finals series — a remarkable achievement in itself.
Our finalists included:
Junior Boys AFL
Junior Girls AFL
Intermediate Girls AFL
Senior Boys Rugby
We are incredibly proud to announce that our Junior Boys AFL team were crowned Conference Champions, a testament to their teamwork, determination, and consistency throughout the season.
Goalball continues to grow as a much‑loved All Abilities sport at Good Sam, and our students shone brightly at this year’s Sydney Gala Day. Both our Junior Boys and Junior Girls teams progressed all the way to the grand final, with our Junior Girls crowned Sydney Champions. Their defensive discipline, communication, and courage were outstanding from start to finish.
Our Senior Boys Hockey team delivered one of their strongest performances in recent years, progressing to the grand final and finishing runners‑up in extra time. Their effort, grit, and composure under pressure were exceptional, and they represented Good Sam with pride.
Our Athletics squad performed brilliantly at the Sydney Championships, with several students achieving personal bests and top‑tier results.
A special congratulations to:
Brodie (Y10) – progressed to the NSWCCC Athletics Championships and was crowned U16 Boys Age Champion
Valentina (Y11) – progressed to the NSWCCC Athletics Championships after a strong performance in Javelin
Their achievements highlight the growing strength of Athletics at Good Sam and the dedication shown by our students and coaches.
With Term 4 approaching, we look forward to continuing this momentum, expanding opportunities, and celebrating even more student success across our sporting programs.
Our community is incredibly proud of every student who represented Good Sam this term — your sportsmanship, commitment, and enthusiasm continue to strengthen our College spirit.
