Term 3 was nothing short of action-packed, with our students showcasing incredible talent, teamwork and tenacity across a wide range of competitions. As part of the Spring SCS Interschool Sport Competition, schools had the unique opportunity to opt into multiple Rugby 7s and AFL events—and we certainly rose to the occasion!
This year, we nearly doubled our team entries compared to 2024, fielding:
Junior Girls, Intermediate Boys, and Senior Boys Rugby 7s teams
Junior, Intermediate, and Senior Boys and Girls AFL teams
Our Senior Boys and Girls AFL teams were crowned Conference Champions, while our Senior Boys Rugby 7s team finished as runners-up in a nail-biting final, conceding only on the last play.
Our All Abilities team proudly represented the College in Soccer 7 Aside, continuing their inspiring tradition of inclusion and excellence. The Intermediate Boys team went undefeated and claimed the Conference title—an outstanding achievement!
We also competed in the Wanderers Cup (Years 9 & 10), with both our boys and girls teams qualifiing for the finals in Term 4—we wish them the best of luck!
We participated in SCS gala days for Hockey and Goalball. Our Boys Hockey team secured 3rd place, narrowly missing the final after a tough semi-final against the eventual champions. Meanwhile, both our Boys and Girls Goalball teams dominated the field and were crowned Sydney Champions, defeating every school in the Sydney diocese.
Our College athletics team competed in the SCS Sydney Championship carnival and Brodie (Y9), Valentina (Y10), Alyssa (Y11) and Marc (Y11) progressed to the NSWCCC Athletics Cahampiuonship. Brodie and Alyssa both finished second place in the 100M Hurdles for their respective age groups.
A huge congratulations to all our athletes, coaches, and supporters. Your commitment and spirit continue to make our College proud. Bring on Term 4!

GOALBALL
Good Samaritan Catholic College is proud to announce that both our junior boys and junior girls goalball teams were victorious at the recent Sydney Catholic Schools Goalball Tournament, bringing home both trophies for our school! On their way to the championship, the Good Samaritan teams defeated strong opponents from All Saints Catholic College, La Salle Catholic College, and Clancy Catholic College.
On September 19th, 2025, our talented teams demonstrated incredible teamwork, skill, and sportsmanship. A huge congratulations to the members of the victorious junior boys team: Dylan Joseph, Bean Nguyen, and James Randal. We also celebrate the incredible achievement of our junior girls team, consisting of Lara Catarino, Zoe Villareal, Berta Orahem, and Jewell Gomez.
This accomplishment is a testament to the students' commitment and the supportive spirit of our college community.

Goal Ball Gala Day

HOCKEY GALA DAY
Our College recently competed at the SCS Hockey Gala Day, entering an intermediate boys team. On the day, the gentlemen played a fantastic set of matches, winning their first three games comfortably, and going into the final group stage match with top spot to play for. The boys ended up drawing the match, which unfortunately landed us in 2nd place due to goal difference. However, as we finished second, it gave us an opportunity to play in the Bronze Medal match.
The team played out a 1-1 draw, with a scissors, paper, rock battle called to decide the Bronze Medal winners. Fortunately for our Hockey boys, it was us who claimed victory and finished in 3rd place overall for the tournament.
It was a great way to end the day and nothing less than what the team deserved after some excellent defence and attacking display earned our boys plenty of plaudits.
