Updated: 2 hours ago

It’s been another exciting and dynamic term for STEM at Good Samaritan Catholic College, with students continuing to explore, innovate, and achieve across a range of projects and competitions. From international opportunities to high-level competitions and creative digital design, here are some of the key highlights from Term 3

Elisha Dabbagh Selected for Endeavour Scholarship – Space Camp USAWe are incredibly proud to congratulate Elisha Dabbagh, who has been selected as one of only five students nationally to represent Australia at the Astronaut Al Worden Endeavour Scholarship. This prestigious international STEM education program will see Elisha travel on an all-expenses-paid trip to Space Camp USA in 2026 as part of the Endeavour Initiative, alongside a team of other secondary students.

This is an extraordinary achievement and a testament to Elisha’s passion for science and innovation. We wish her every success as she embarks on this once-in-a-lifetime journey. More info on the scholarship can be found here.

STEM Club Coding Team – Game Submission to National CompetitionThe STEM Club coding team has officially submitted their original game “Lumorin” to the Australian STEM Video Game Challenge. Under the guidance and leadership of Rebecca Woods, the students designed and developed the game from scratch, applying skills in programming, game logic, narrative development, and user experience.

While they were not selected as winners this year, the team should be commended for their dedication, creativity, and perseverance. They are already planning their next game for the 2026 competition,  and we can’t wait to see what they create next!

F1 STEM Racing – Nitro Racing Heads to State FinalsOur F1 STEM Racing team, now officially named Nitro Racing, has had an outstanding term preparing for the State Finals, which will be held on November 24th and 25th.

With CAD and CNC milled car prototypes and engineering portfolios well underway, the team has been hard at work fine tuning every element of their presentation. This program is an exciting fusion of physics, engineering, marketing, and teamwork, and we wish Nitro Racing all the best as they represent the College at the state finals.

It’s been a term full of challenges, creativity, and growth, and we are proud of all students and staff who have contributed to the continued success of STEM at Good Samaritan Catholic College. A sincere thank you to everyone who supports these programs and helps build a vibrant, forward-thinking STEM culture within our community.
