Sydney Catholic Schools Classical Music Recital

Jai Duong, of Year 8, performed Frederic Chopin's Étude Op.10 No.4 at the 2026 SCS Classical Music Recital on Sunday 9th August at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Soloists for the recital were chosen through exceptional Eisteddfod performances and video auditions.

Jai began his musical journey during the COVID-19 lockdown, initially self-teaching piano via YouTube. In 2024, he commenced formal studies with his current instructor, marking the beginning of his classical training. Jai has developed a profound interest in Chopin’s works, particularly his Ballades. While his future pathways are still being explored, Jai’s commitment to music and multiple instruments remains a central focus of his pursuits.

He performed exceptionally well and deserves recognition for his outstanding proficiency at the piano. We look forward to what Jai achieves next!
