Wellbeing Week Newsfeed Report

Across the span of the past week, Good Samaritan students were able to celebrate and recognise the importance of wellbeing being composed of many parts. Each day focused on a certain aspect of wellbeing to allow students to grasp a greater understanding of wellbeing.

Throughout the week there were various activities and initiatives available for students to engage with. One major part present throughout the week was the Wellbeing Week Gratitude Wall available for students each lunch and recess. This wall allowed Good Samaritans to record what they were grateful for and publicly encourage other students to do the same. This invited students to practice gratitude and find joy in their day-to-day lives.

Tuesday specifically focused on spirituality as a central pillar at Good Samaritan. On this day, reconciliation was available for students and the Chapel was open for prayer from the morning to encourage dialogue with God.

Wednesday shifted matters to social health and emphasised the importance of collaboration and friendship as vital means of achieving wellbeing. This was celebrated with the sausage sizzle run by Year 12 House Leaders. This sparked conversations and friendships.

Thursday progressed to physical health which was commemorated through the Student vs Staff soccer game in the spirit of the FIFA World Cup, where the students took on teachers for a close match. The students ended with the trophy, but it was overall a great effort on both sides.

Ultimately, the experience gave the Good Samaritan community a powerful chance to highlight wellbeing as a rich and essential part of life, encouraging positive shifts in daily habits that nurtured overall wellbeing.
